Terms of service

Ownsome builds websites and small apps from your description. You can build alone with the AI, ask a person for help with one thing, or hand a build over entirely. These terms are written to be read; if anything here surprises you, tell us and we will either fix the product or fix the sentence.

You can build before you have an account, within a small daily allowance for each internet address. Creating one starts you with 20 free credits and lets you keep what you built, and you must be able to receive email at the address you give. You are responsible for what you publish through Ownsome.

Credits pay for generation and refinement, and for nothing else. Editing and publishing are free. If a generation fails, the credits come back on their own. If a change produced something you didn’t ask for, one tap within half an hour reverts and refunds it; past that, or in unusual volume, a person reviews it first. The ledger records every movement and nothing in it is ever rewritten. Credits are not money, do not expire while your account exists, and are not transferable. The price you see when buying them includes tax. Prices are in pounds sterling.

Requests for human help are reviewed, not guaranteed. We either accept, with a price and a date, before you pay, or decline, in which case you are charged nothing and the AI helps you instead. Paid help is quoted per task; there are no subscriptions for it.

Everything you build here is yours: the site, its content, every version. You can download it as a file that runs anywhere, and you can leave with it at any time. We claim no rights over what you make. Published sites live at an ownsome.app address of your choosing; the address, and the small “Built with Ownsome” line on published sites, are ours.

Sometimes our team imports a site built elsewhere for a business, sets its name and contact details, and sends the owner a one-time claim link. Until that link is used, we hold the site. Open it and sign in, and the site becomes yours, with the same free credits every new account gets, and everything above about ownership applies to you from that moment.

Publish things that are illegal, that impersonate someone, or that are built to deceive the people who visit them. Every generated page is checked against what you told us and rebuilt when the check catches an invention; the final say on what your page claims is yours, and we ask that it be true. The publish audit can refuse a page whose contact details are still placeholders. We can unpublish sites that break this, and will tell you when we do.

If you connect your own services, a database, payments, those run in your own accounts, on their terms and their bills. We never hold your production credentials. What your site collects from its visitors belongs to you and lives in your accounts, not ours.

Delete a site and its content is gone. Delete your account from your settings and everything you built goes with it; the credit ledger is never rewritten, so its entries stay, along with the billing records the law requires, no longer attached to your name or email.

Ownsome is provided as it is. We work to keep it up and correct, and we tell you plainly when something failed rather than hiding it, but we cannot promise it will never be down or never make a mistake. Our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you by email before it takes effect, in plain language.
